Common Baxi Boiler Faults
Baxi boilers are popular in the UK. Most faults can be diagnosed from the display code. Before calling an engineer, try these troubleshooting steps.
E119 Fault
E119 usually indicates low pressure or a flow issue. Check the pressure gauge—it should read 1–1.5 bar when the system is cold. If it's below 0.5 bar, repressurize using the filling loop (usually under the boiler). Open both valves until the pressure rises, then close them. Press reset.
No Hot Water or Heating
If the boiler fires but you get no heat, check the pump. Ensure radiators are bled and the system is not airlocked. A faulty diverter valve can cause hot water but no heating, or vice versa—this may need a Gas Safe engineer.
Pressure Keeps Dropping
Falling pressure suggests a leak. Check visible pipework, radiators, and the pressure relief valve (often dripping outside). The expansion vessel may need recharging. For gas work, always use a Gas Safe registered engineer.
